Benchmark Reporting Establishes Judicial Reporting Scholarship at Anoka Technical College
Jamie Ward first recipient of $1,000 scholarship
MINNEAPOLIS (January 30, 2019) – Benchmark Reporting Agency, a leading provider of court reporting and legal videography services, has partnered with the Minnesota-based vocational institution Anoka Technical College on the creation of an annual $1,000 scholarship for its judicial reporting program. The scholarship is presented to a worthy Anoka Technical College student preparing for a career in court reporting. The first recipient of the scholarship is Jamie Ward.
“With the complex nature of new technology in the court reporting field, education is a critical component for a career in court reporting,” said Aimee Goldberg, CEO and Partner of Benchmark Reporting Agency. “The need for qualified, trained reporters has never been greater. And as the only judicial program in Minnesota, it was important to us to support the program and the students at Anoka Technical College.”
According to industry reports, court reporting is an industry consistently growing and adapting to new technology and legal requirements. As a result, qualified court reporters continue to be in demand.
“Court reporters provide many more services today than they did in the past,” said Goldberg. “Today, more than ever, the legal profession is in need of qualified, trained reporters to meet a myriad of needs. For example, closed captioning on television is just one of the new areas that are open and in need of qualified reporters.”
