Benchmark Reporting Agency Celebrates 50 Years
MINNEAPOLIS (October 19, 2017) – Benchmark Reporting Agency, a leading provider of court reporting and legal videography services, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, a longevity credited to the ability to adapt to changing industry requirements.
Since its founding in 1967, technology and business innovation have remained constant factors in driving the company’s growth and longevity. Today, the agency offers a full range of litigation support services, enhancing our deposition and legal video services to organizations in Minnesota and across the nation.
“Over the past five decades, technology has dramatically transformed the legal industry and the services required,” said Aimee Goldberg, owner and partner of Benchmark Reporting. “As I look at the prominent cases we’ve been involved in, I am extremely proud of not only our accomplishments but also the culture of excellence we have been able to maintain through the years.”
Founded in October 1967 by Charles Lehman as Southwest Reporters, the company quickly expanded beyond the original mission of serving the need for court reporters in southwest Minnesota. In 1997, Goldberg purchased the company from Lehman, her stepfather, and under her leadership, Benchmark expanded beyond its court reporting origins into a full range of litigation support services, rebranding to reflect the expanded offering and unrestricted geographic reach.
“It was a moment in time when technology was just beginning to be used by law firms,” said Goldberg. “Seeing an opportunity, I invested heavily in these areas and in doing so transformed the organization. This was a defining moment for the company and one of the main reasons we are celebrating our 50th anniversary.”
Benchmark and Goldberg have earned industry recognition and honors, including the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certification that recognizes independent businesses owned and managed by women. Goldberg has also been honored with the Journal of Court Reporting (JCR) award for Community Outreach, recognizing National Court Reporting Association (NCRA) members who have demonstrated leadership and commitment in bettering their communities.
