Aimee Goldberg Honored by JCR

Aimee Goldberg, co-partner and CEO of Minneapolis-based Benchmark Reporting Agency, has received the Journal of Court Reporting (JCR) award for Community Outreach. The annual Award recognizes a National Court Reporting Association (NCRA) member who has demonstrated their leadership and commitment to bettering their community.

In recognizing Goldberg, the NCRA called out her unwavering commitment to supporting the MS Society. Diagnosed in 1999 with the disease, Goldberg is one of more than 17,000 individuals in the Twin Cities who are afflicted with multiple sclerosis (MS). She lives daily with the challenges of the disease that attacks the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve through the immune system and is committed to helping others live with the disease.

“Giving back to our community has always been very important to me,” said Aimee Goldberg. “Raising money for the MS Society holds a very personal meaning for me. My fight with MS is not mine alone and I am reminded of this each year at the Walk MS: Twin Cities event. I can feel the hope and drive in the hearts of others to beat this disease and to find a cure. It is a very humbling and beautiful event. I am very grateful and honored to be recognized for the fundraising efforts of Team Benchmark and for the Simpson House.”

Goldberg’s most prominent philanthropic work is raising money for MS research on multiple sclerosis. Goldberg formed a team through her company and has been a participant in the Christopher & Banks MS Walk: Twin Cities for over 11 years. Team Benchmark welcomes anywhere from 50 to 75 walkers, raising up to $15,000 annually and ranks as one of the highest fundraisers for the MS Walk locally.

The money raised by Benchmark Reporting and other participants goes directly to research and programs for those living with MS: medication, medical equipment, counseling services and family social programs, as well as resources for emotional health and physical well being through a network of support groups.

Goldberg’s involvement in community extends to her volunteer work with Simpson House, a Twin Cities nonprofit organization dedicated to helping thousands of people experiencing homelessness find the housing, support, and shelter they need in a time of personal crisis. For the past seven years, Aimee and Benchmark Reporting Agency have adopted a family during the holiday season, providing gifts and support to ease the challenges of their personal and living situations.
